Sauce Labs vs LambdaTest (Now TestMu AI): 2026 Comparison
LambdaTest is now TestMu AI. Compare it with Sauce Labs product by product: live testing, web and app automation on virtual and real devices, AI test authoring, visual testing, test management and list prices.
Published on:
Sauce Labs and LambdaTest, now TestMu AI, sell the same core service: live and automated testing on desktop browsers, emulators, simulators and 10,000+ real Android and iOS devices, priced per parallel test. They differ on AI, orchestration, test management and tools for after release. Sauce Labs sells Sauce AI for Test Authoring and Sauce AI for Insights to Enterprise accounts, and adds production error reporting and beta app distribution. TestMu AI sells KaneAI, its test authoring agent, on self-serve plans. It adds HyperExecute, an orchestration cloud that TestMu AI rates at up to 70% faster than traditional grids, plus Test Manager and SmartUI. On list prices, TestMu AI costs less for browser and virtual device testing and the same on real devices. TestMu AI fits teams that want AI test authoring without an Enterprise contract or test management on the same platform, while Sauce Labs fits teams that need Sauce Error Reporting or an ISO 42001-certified vendor.
Sauce Labs details come from Sauce Labs' product, pricing and documentation pages, checked on October 15, 2026. TestMu AI details come from its product pages, documentation and pricing page.
Is LambdaTest the Same as TestMu AI?
Yes. LambdaTest was renamed TestMu AI on January 12, 2026. HyperExecute, SmartUI, KaneAI and Test Manager kept their names, and the live testing product LambdaTest called Real Time Testing is now Cross Browser Testing.
Suites written for LambdaTest keep running without changes. Selenium tests still connect to hub.lambdatest.com with the LT_USERNAME and LT_ACCESS_KEY credentials, and a Sauce Labs suite moves to the same endpoint.

Why Choose LambdaTest (TestMu AI) Over Sauce Labs?
- AI test authoring on self-serve plans. KaneAI turns natural-language prompts, Jira tickets, PRDs and recordings into tests, heals them as the app changes and exports them to Selenium, Playwright, Cypress or Appium. Sauce AI for Test Authoring is a paid add-on for Sauce Labs Enterprise accounts.
- Shorter suite runs. HyperExecute runs the test script on the same machine as the browser and splits the suite across machines, so a run waits on fewer network round trips.
- Lower entry prices for browser testing. Virtual Live and desktop web automation cost less per parallel test than Sauce Labs Live Testing and Virtual Device Cloud.
- Test management on the same platform. Test Manager keeps manual results, automated runs and KaneAI-authored tests in the same test cycles, with two-way Jira and Azure DevOps sync.
- Visual testing you can start free. SmartUI compares screenshots and PDF files against baselines, and its free plan covers 2,000 screenshots.
- On-premises real devices. Real Device Cloud is available as a dedicated pool or on-premises inside your own network.
- Free plans. Live testing, automation, HyperExecute, SmartUI, Test Manager and Accessibility each have a free plan. Sauce Labs has a 28-day trial with 60 automated and live testing minutes.
From TestMu AI case studies:
- Raiffeisen Bank International runs more than 8,000 tests a day across 40+ teams on TestMu AI, with each team in its own sub-organization on shared infrastructure that meets the bank's data isolation rules.
- bet365 moved browser, mobile web and native app testing onto one TestMu AI platform after separate tools for browsers and devices kept its testers switching between systems, and its head of software testing, Joanna Ward, says the automated runs are "more stable" than on its previous setup.

The short case for moving from Sauce Labs to TestMu AI is on Sauce Labs alternatives.
How Do You Switch From Sauce Labs to TestMu AI?
You move an automated suite by changing its configuration, and the test logic stays as written. The Sauce Labs to TestMu AI migration guide walks through a Selenium 3 and Selenium 4 suite in Java:
- Swap the credentials. Replace
SAUCE_USERNAMEandSAUCE_ACCESS_KEYwith theLT_USERNAMEandLT_ACCESS_KEYvalues from your TestMu AI account settings, stored in environment variables. - Change the hub URL. Point the remote driver at
hub.lambdatest.com/wd/hubinstead ofondemand.us-west-1.saucelabs.com/wd/hub. - Switch the vendor options. Move settings from the
sauce:optionscapability toLT:Options, and match browser, version and platform with the capabilities generator. - Replace the tunnel. Run LT Tunnel or the Underpass desktop app where you ran Sauce Connect, so tests can reach localhost and staging.
Mobile app suites follow the Appium migration guide for Sauce Labs, and teams moving their runs onto HyperExecute can start from the Sauce Labs to HyperExecute guide. Each Sauce Labs product has its own comparison:
- Sauce Labs Virtual Device Cloud vs TestMu AI for automated tests on browsers, emulators and simulators
- Sauce Labs Real Device Cloud vs TestMu AI for live and automated testing on real Android and iOS devices
- Sauce AI vs KaneAI for AI test authoring and failure analysis
- BrowserStack vs Sauce Labs if you are weighing those two against each other
Note: Rerun one Sauce Labs suite on a TestMu AI free plan before you commit. Start free with TestMu AI.
Should You Choose Sauce Labs or LambdaTest (TestMu AI)?
Move to TestMu AI when the Enterprise contract for Sauce AI, a separate test management tool or browser testing costs are the problem. Start with one automated suite, then move live testing once the device list checks out. Stay on Sauce Labs if you rely on Sauce Error Reporting or Mobile App Distribution next to your tests, or if your AI policy requires a vendor certified to ISO 42001, which Sauce Labs lists and the TestMu AI security page does not.
If BrowserStack is also on your list, BrowserStack vs LambdaTest (Now TestMu AI) compares it product by product, and real device cloud platforms covers device clouds beyond these three vendors.
