BrowserStack vs LambdaTest (Now TestMu AI): 2026 Comparison
LambdaTest is now TestMu AI. Compare it with BrowserStack product by product: live and real device testing, web and app automation, visual testing, test management, AI agents, and how each platform prices them.
Published on:
LambdaTest is now TestMu AI, and it covers the same ground as BrowserStack: live testing on browsers and real devices, web and app automation, visual testing, test management and accessibility. BrowserStack lists the larger real-device catalog, 35,000+ on its Live page. It also names AI agents such as Self-Healing and Test Selection, and it prices live testing per user. TestMu AI prices live testing per parallel session and adds HyperExecute, an orchestration cloud that TestMu AI rates at up to 70% faster than traditional grids. KaneAI, its end-to-end testing agent, writes tests from natural language, and teams that cannot use shared hardware can run private or on-premises device clouds. If suite time, natural-language test authoring and per-parallel pricing matter most, TestMu AI fits better. A team that needs a rare device model or BrowserStack's test selection agent may lean BrowserStack.
BrowserStack details come from BrowserStack's product and pricing pages, checked on 14 October 2026. TestMu AI details come from its product pages, documentation and pricing page.
Is LambdaTest the Same as TestMu AI?
Yes. LambdaTest became TestMu AI on January 12, 2026, and the TestMu AI and LambdaTest page explains the change. The platform and products carried over under the new name. LambdaTest's Real Time Testing runs live sessions in TestMu AI Cross Browser Testing, and HyperExecute, SmartUI, KaneAI and Test Manager kept their names.
Existing automation did not need to change. Selenium suites still connect to the hub.lambdatest.com endpoint with the LT_USERNAME and LT_ACCESS_KEY credentials, so a suite written for LambdaTest runs on TestMu AI as it is.

Why Choose LambdaTest (TestMu AI) Over BrowserStack?
- Suite time. HyperExecute runs the test script next to the browser and splits the suite across machines.
- Natural-language test authoring. KaneAI turns PRDs, tickets and recordings into tests, heals them as the app changes and exports them to major frameworks.
- Per-parallel live testing. Teams pay for sessions that run at the same time, and Virtual Live includes official Android emulators, iOS simulators and 3,000+ desktop browsers.
- Device clouds you control. Real Device Cloud is available as a dedicated pool or on-premises inside your own network.
- One set of results. Test Manager pulls manual results, HyperExecute runs and KaneAI-authored tests into the same cycles, and a failed run opens AI root cause analysis.
- Load tests in the same plan. Existing JMeter and Gatling plans run on HyperExecute without a rewrite.
- Free plans across products. Live testing, automation, HyperExecute, SmartUI and Test Manager each have a free plan.
From TestMu AI case studies:
- City Furniture moved its web and mobile app automation to TestMu AI, ran web tests 40% faster and mobile tests 20% faster, and halved its testing costs.
- Transavia replaced a discontinued test platform, chose TestMu AI over two other options, and ran tests 70% faster.
LambdaTest (TestMu AI) vs BrowserStack: How Does Pricing Compare?
| Product | LambdaTest (now TestMu AI) | BrowserStack |
|---|---|---|
| Live testing | Per parallel session: Virtual Live $15, real devices $39 | Per user: Freelancer $12.50 (100 minutes, one user), Live Desktop $29, Live Desktop & Mobile $39; Team $150 for 5 users |
| Web automation | Per parallel: Automation Cloud $29 for Selenium on Linux or $79 for desktop browsers; HyperExecute from $103 (Linux; $159 for Windows, macOS and Linux) | Per parallel test: Automate from $59 (Chrome on Windows), $99 Desktop, $175 Desktop & Mobile, $225 Pro |
| App automation | Per parallel: $139 on emulators and simulators, $199 on real devices | Per parallel test: App Automate Device Cloud $199, Device Cloud Pro $249 |
| Visual testing | SmartUI, $199 for 15,000 screenshots a month ($299 for 25,000), unlimited users | Percy Desktop, $199 for 10,000 screenshots a month ($449 for 25,000), unlimited users |
| Test management | Test Manager Premium, $49 per seat | Free plan, then Team $99 and Team Pro $199 for 5 users; Team Ultimate on request |
| AI test authoring | KaneAI from $17 per agent (Starter, 2,000 credits a month for local authoring through Kane CLI); Kane CLI has a free tier | Test Companion from $25 a month per user (2,000 credits) and Low Code Automation, each with a free plan |
| Free plans | Live testing (renews monthly), automation (100 lifetime minutes), HyperExecute (300 minutes), SmartUI, Test Manager, Accessibility and JMeter performance testing | Percy, App Percy, Test Management, Accessibility, Low Code Automation, Load Testing and Test Companion; Live, App Live and Automate have a free trial only (30, 30 and 60 minutes) |
TestMu AI costs less for desktop live testing ($15 a month per parallel session on Virtual Live against $29 per user for Live Desktop; BrowserStack's $12.50 Freelancer plan caps one user at 100 minutes), for desktop browser automation ($79 against $99 for Automate Desktop, or $29 for Selenium on Linux against $59 for Automate Chrome on Windows) and for visual testing at volume (25,000 screenshots for $299 against $449 on Percy Desktop). BrowserStack costs less per parallel for Automate Desktop than for HyperExecute, $99 against $103 on Linux Only and $159 on Multi OS, though HyperExecute is an orchestration platform that includes auto-heal and JMeter load testing, and BrowserStack's Test Management Team pack costs less per user from three seats. The structural difference is the unit for live testing: per parallel session on TestMu AI and per user on BrowserStack, so testers who share sessions pay for fewer units. TestMu AI prices come from the TestMu AI pricing page and BrowserStack prices from BrowserStack's pricing page, monthly and billed annually unless noted, checked on 15 October 2026.
For the whole platform, the BrowserStack alternatives page compares the two feature by feature.
How Do You Switch From BrowserStack to TestMu AI?
Automated suites move by configuration: change the hub URL to hub.lambdatest.com/wd/hub, add TestMu AI credentials and regenerate capabilities, as the BrowserStack to TestMu AI migration guide shows. Each product has its own comparison with migration steps:
- BrowserStack Automate vs HyperExecute for automated web suites
- BrowserStack Live and App Live vs TestMu AI for manual testing on browsers and real devices
- BrowserStack Test Management vs TestMu AI Test Manager for test cases, plans and runs
- Percy alternative for visual testing with SmartUI
Note: TestMu AI has free tiers for live testing, automation, HyperExecute, SmartUI and Test Manager, so you can rerun one BrowserStack workflow before you commit. Start free with TestMu AI.
Should You Choose BrowserStack or LambdaTest (TestMu AI)?
Move to TestMu AI if CI wait time, test authoring effort or paying for idle live-testing seats is the problem, starting with automation and moving manual testing once your device list checks out. Stay on BrowserStack if rare phone models, Multi-Device Testing or its test selection and deduplication agents are hard requirements: its Live page lists 35,000+ devices against 10,000+ in TestMu AI Real Device Cloud, and TestMu AI does not list those two agents.
