How is AI used in QA today?

Will AI replace QA engineers?

What it does not take is deciding what is worth testing, reading a failing run and knowing whether the bug is in the product or the test, or exploratory work. Teams moving off a manual suite usually redirect that recovered time into exploratory and edge-case coverage.

Can I trust an AI QA tool when it says a test passed?

Only if the pass is anchored to evidence rather than to the model, which is the position TestMu AI takes. The LLM decides how to reach an element, and that path can differ between runs. It never decides that the check passed. A pass is granted only when the expected state is confirmed through DOM state, URL changes, network responses, console logs, screenshots, or assertions you wrote. How do I move a manual QA suite onto AI?

Start with the cases you run on every release, not the long tail. Manual test cases are usually already written as plain steps, so they translate almost directly into objectives. Run the automated suite alongside the manual pass for one release cycle and compare what each caught. In practice a 200-case manual suite gets partly automated in two to four weeks, and the first 50 cases account for most of the manual time.

Does AI QA replace my Playwright or Selenium suite?

Not on day one, and TestMu AI does not claim it should. A hand-written Playwright or Selenium test is faster per run and fully deterministic, which still matters for tight assertions and for anything that needs request mocking. The realistic end state is hybrid: AI for new feature tests, smoke tests, and the flows that break most often under UI churn, existing code left where it works.
