Formerly, Thomas was Chief Executive Officer of GitHub, where he led the company's growth to over 150 million developers and oversaw the rise of GitHub Copilot — the world's most widely adopted AI developer tool — now with over 20 million users and counting. Thomas is a celebrated TED speaker and holds a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Glasgow, UK.
