02 · ESG governance
How ESG Is Governed
ESG is integrated into our corporate governance framework, business strategy and operational decision-making rather than operating as a standalone function. Executive Leadership sets ESG priorities and reviews performance annually; the Information Security & Compliance Steering Committee oversees ESG risk alongside enterprise risk; and Governance, Risk & Compliance coordinates ESG reporting with named business-function owners.
Material Topics
Material topics are identified through a structured materiality assessment and stakeholder engagement process, conducted in line with the GRI Standards. Topics are selected on the basis of operational impacts, stakeholder expectations and the most significant economic, environmental and social impacts of our business, and are reviewed each reporting cycle. They define the boundary of our ESG disclosure, with data-quality notes and assurance scope disclosed where applicable.
Carbon emissions reduction · Water conservation · Waste management · Employee health and safety · Diversity and inclusion · Ethical governance · Data privacy and security · Responsible AI
Stakeholder groups engaged: customers, employees, partners and suppliers, investors, regulators and industry bodies, and the communities and technology ecosystem in which we operate.
From Measurement to Disclosure
Each disclosed metric follows a defined control process from source data to publication, so that ESG figures meet the same standard of ownership, validation and review applied to our other governance reporting.
| Step | Control |
|---|---|
| 01 Source | Provider carbon-reporting tools, utility and travel records, and HR systems. |
| 02 Ownership | A named business function owns each metric and its methodology and approves the value for the period. |
| 03 Validation | Bi-annual functional data reviews validate metrics against source evidence, with boundary and calculation basis recorded. |
| 04 Review | The annual ESG leadership review approves disclosures before publication. |
| 05 Restatement | Figures are restated when provider data or methodology changes, and the change is disclosed. |
ESG Risk Within the Enterprise Risk Framework
ESG exposures are assessed, owned and escalated through the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, using the same likelihood and impact scales as every other category of risk. The categories under active management are published below; detailed assessments remain internal.
| Category | Exposure under management |
|---|---|
| Climate and energy | Emissions performance, cloud and workplace energy consumption, and exposure to energy cost and availability. |
| Disclosure and regulation | Accuracy of reported figures, and readiness for customer and regulatory sustainability disclosure requirements. |
| Value chain | Environmental, labor and ethics exposure carried through cloud, hardware and services suppliers. |
| People | Health and safety, representation, retention and capability in a fast-moving technical workforce. |
| Responsible AI | Fairness, oversight, transparency and misuse risk in AI-native products and internal AI use. |
Supplier Expectations
Our most significant environmental and social exposures sit within the value chain. ESG criteria are applied at supplier onboarding and renewal, proportionate to the goods or services provided: environmental practice and regulatory compliance; labor and human rights standards, with no child, forced or bonded labor anywhere in the chain; anti-bribery, anti-corruption and conflict-of-interest obligations carried into contract; and engagement with local businesses, small and medium-sized enterprises and women-led enterprises where the category allows. How suppliers are governed is set out on the Corporate Governance page.
Responsible AI as a material topic. Responsible AI is material because the product itself is AI-native. Our program rests on human oversight and accountability, fairness and non-discrimination, transparency and explainability, privacy and security by design, continuous monitoring and risk-based governance, and is supported by an AI management system aligned with ISO/IEC 42001, with certification in progress.
03 · Environment
A Low-Carbon Digital Business
Because our platform is delivered entirely from the cloud, our environmental footprint arises principally from electricity consumption, cloud infrastructure, business travel and workplace operations rather than from manufacturing, owned data centers or a vehicle fleet. Our climate strategy is built on five priorities (measure, optimize, reduce, engage and improve), and our decarbonization priorities follow where the footprint sits: cloud workloads account for approximately one sixth of measured emissions, with purchased electricity, business travel and purchased goods and services accounting for the remainder.
Greenhouse-Gas Emissions, 2025
| Scope | tCO₂e | Coverage |
|---|---|---|
| Scope 1 | 1.29 | Direct emissions |
| Scope 2 | 111.5 | Purchased electricity, location-based |
| Scope 3 | 235.7 | Cloud infrastructure, business travel and operations |
Environmental Programs
Sustainable cloud infrastructure. Cloud emissions and resource consumption monitored using provider-supported carbon reporting. Compute, storage and workloads right-sized to reduce idle capacity. Intelligent orchestration and automated power-management controls.
Resource efficiency and circular economy. Digital-first, paper-light operations. Responsible IT asset use, reuse and authorized disposal. Waste segregation and authorized recycling; reduced single-use materials. Pilot cigarette-waste diversion program: 5.41 kg collected and recycled, protecting an estimated 1.62 million liters of water from contamination.
Sustainable workplace operations. 100% LED lighting, centrally managed HVAC, automated power management and sensor-based water fixtures in leased offices. Facilities with rooftop solar, rainwater harvesting and natural lighting selected where available. Hybrid and remote working; 310 ground trips completed in hybrid or electric vehicles, avoiding an estimated 170.86 kg CO₂e.
Responsible procurement and awareness. Environmental due diligence and contractual environmental obligations for suppliers. Local procurement where practical. Employee environmental awareness, tree-planting and sustainability campaigns.
Software carbon intensity: target 2028. Absolute emissions grow with test volume as the platform scales, so intensity is the measure we manage against. We intend to publish a Software Carbon Intensity score per test-execution-minute calculated in conformance with ISO/IEC 21031:2024, with the software boundary, functional unit and methodology disclosed alongside it.
Environmental Roadmap to 2028
2026
