# CLI Reference

> Complete command and flag reference for Kane CLI: all commands, options, exit codes, TUI slash commands, keyboard shortcuts, and directory structure.

## Commands

### `kane-cli --tui`

Launch the interactive TUI.

### `kane-cli run`

Run a browser automation test.

**Mobile run flags** (macOS Apple Silicon only):

| Flag                  | Description                                                                           | Default                                                                           |

| `--target <name>`     | Which target to run against: `desktop`, `emulator`, or `simulator`                    | Saved session target, otherwise `desktop`                                         |
| `--device <id>`       | Pick a device by name, serial, `ip:port`, or udid                                     | TTY opens a one-time picker and saves the choice; non-interactive runs require it |
| `--app <path\|APPid>` | The app under test. A build (emulator `.apk`, simulator `.zip`) or an uploaded app id | Config value. Required for every mobile run                                       |

On the `desktop` target, `--device` and `--app` are ignored. See [Mobile Testing](/docs/docs/kane-cli-mobile/) for setup.

### `kane-cli doctor`

Check the mobile tooling on this machine, and install the tooling Kane CLI manages.

kane-cli doctor --targets    # also list the emulators and simulators available

`doctor` prints one line per required check. Run `kane-cli login` before `--install`. See [Mobile Testing](/docs/docs/kane-cli-mobile/).

### `kane-cli login`

Authenticate with <BrandName />. Opens a browser for OAuth, or accepts credentials for basic auth.

kane-cli login --username <user> --access-key <key> [--profile <name>]
```

### `kane-cli logout`

Revoke tokens and remove stored credentials for the active profile.

### `kane-cli whoami`

Show the active profile and authentication status.

```

Prints profile, environment, auth method, username, and token state (for OAuth).

### `kane-cli balance`

Show credit balance for the active profile.

### `kane-cli profiles`

Manage named authentication profiles.

### `kane-cli config`

View and modify persistent settings.

<Note>
  Commands without arguments (`chrome-profile`, `project`, `folder`) launch an interactive picker UI. AI agents cannot run these — ask the user to run them directly.

### `kane-cli feedback`

Submit feedback on a completed test run.

## Exit Codes

| Code | Meaning                                         |
| ---- | ----------------------------------------------- |
| `0`  | Test passed                                     |
| `1`  | Test failed (assertion not met)                 |
| `2`  | Error (auth failure, Chrome crash, infra issue) |
| `3`  | Timeout or cancelled                            |
